Dispatch

The La Paz County Central Dispatch is the communication center for all of La Paz County emergency services, with the exception of American Medical Response ambulance and the Colorado River Indian Tribes. The center itself is located within the Sheriff’s Department at 1109 Arizona Avenue, within the Town of Parker.

The primary function of Dispatch is to receive all emergency and non-emergency calls for service and from field units ensuring that the proper Department(s) are dispatched including all necessary information to remedy the call. Prioritizing calls for service, assigning and dispatching units for emergency and non-emergency calls while monitoring the safety of all field units. Coordinating multiple tasks simultaneously, using judgment to make operational decisions based on information regarding available units and calls holding within policy and procedural guidelines. Coordinating the movement of multiple law enforcement units engaged in pursuit, location of lost parties, boating vessels and life or death situations. Our Dispatch department takes pride on remaining calm while taking high priority calls, conversing with field units and answering multiple telephone lines.
