LPCSO Adult Detention Facility

It is the objective of the La Paz County Sheriff’s Office Detention Division to provide a safe and secure environment for persons committed to the custody of the Sheriff while protecting the citizens and crime victims of La Paz County through a cost effective care & custody system.  It is our goal to strive to achieve this objective through efforts of continued communication and improving services to the law enforcement agencies in La Paz County and the citizens we serve.

Detention Training: All Detention Officers are required to complete a Arizona Basic Detention Officer Academy.  Detention personnel also receive refresher and continued training in their course of employment.

Inmate Services and Programs: Programs offered to inmates include A.A., N.A., bible studies, church services, anger management G.E.D. and other social programs.  Community volunteers continue to offer their time to these programs for the inmates.  Notary Services are also available to inmates as well as commissary for those with funds and indigent packets for those without.

Medical Services: Inmates incarcerated in the La Paz County Sheriff’s Office Adult Detention Facility receive professional, efficient, and required medical treatment of physical illnesses, chemical dependencies, and psychiatric problems during their incarceration.

Phone Service: Inmates are allowed to make telephone calls from their housing areas.  Pre paid phone cards are available for purchase through commissary. Otherwise all outgoing calls to the public are collect.  Messages are not taken for inmates, except in a verified emergency situation.  In-coming calls for inmates are not allowed, except in verified emergency situations.

Visitation: The Detention Division allows and encourages inmates to maintain contact with family and friends through regular visits.

  • Each inmate may receive up to two visits per week, for 30 minutes each visit. Individuals under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
    Valid Photograph ID is required. All visitors will be subject to Arizona Criminal Justice Information system review before visits are approved.
    All visitors will be subject to search and seizure before entering the Visiting area
    No food or drinks , camera, cell phones, purses , bags , fanny packs , or containers of any kind are permitted in the Visiting area
    All visitors will store all personal items in their vehicles
    All visits are recorded.
    Vandalism or attempts to damage the Facility will result in the termination of the visit and criminal prosecution.
    Be advised, If you are on parole or probation, and attempting to visit and inmate you may be in violation of the terms of your parole or probation and may be subject to prosecution.

THE VISITING SCHEDULE IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT NOTICE.
THE ADMINISTRATION RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REFUSE VISITING FOR ANYONE.

VIOLATION OF ANY OF THE RULES WILL RESULT IN THE LOSS OF VISITATION.

Visitation Schedule:
Males:         Wednesdays & Saturday
Females:     Tuesday & Sunday

Times are based on classification of each inmate

Appointments must be made 24 hours in advance by calling 928-669-5816

Money: All incoming money for inmates (other than initial intake) will be accepted by money order through mail or by cash the time of visitation.  Cash or money orders are the only form of funds accepted.

Mail: All inmate mail must be delivered by the U.S. Post Office.  It is the policy of the Detention Facility to encourage the exchange of correspondence between the inmate and his family and others.  Envelopes must be stamped, including the inmates name, and complete return address.
